Finally, October 1st finished strongly after some early trading jitters.

The $NSDQ100 briefly dipped to 14,500 and at one stage it looked like the selloff would continue, but a welcome rebound into positive territory happened soon after. The DJ30 and SPX500 both finished the day strongly.

During the low point of yesterday’s trading session I took the opportunity to increase our position in $HUBS (HubSpot) $NVDA (NVIDIA Corporation) and open a new position in $UNH (UnitedHealth) , these are all firms, which I remain extremely bullish on.

In other updates, our long hold on $MRK (Merck) was rewarded with a nice 9% bounce after Merck announced a string of positive news, including the acquisition of Acceleron Pharma, and reports around the effectiveness of its new COVID antiviral pill. Merck shares have been treading water for months due a number of factors and yesterday’s news was welcome.

On the back of a challenging few months I am fairly happy with where our portfolio currently stands. Many of our active positions were opened up at good price points and have some room to run, and YTD we are still hovering around plus 30%. More updates to follow next week.
